QUOTATION OF THE WEEK
"You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part
of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at
the skies, that is why you must sing and dance, and write poems,
and suffer, and understand, for all that is life."
--Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895-1986) Indian theosophist
PERSONAL REFLECTIONS
Life offers so many opportunities to learn and grow. Yet, at times, we become narrow in our experiences. Perhaps we have a hobby that is all consuming. Perhaps it is a relationship into which we funnel all our energies. Perhaps it is a group or club. Maybe it is our work. Not that these are bad things, but when we primarily focus on one main area of our life, we miss the learning and growing that we can get from other areas--areas that will enhance our overall life experience. What happens if our focus is only on one area and we lose that area? If that has been our whole life, we can find ourselves in the desert of loneliness, regrets, and depression. What if we have developed other areas of our life? These can now support us and provide comfort in our loss. They can help in filling the void left by our loss.
So stretch yourself. Challenge yourself. Try something new. Pick from the many opportunities that life has to offer. Welcome what life gives. You will feel yourself expanding and growing as you open the doors of living, loving and learning. Embrace the gift of life.
