QUOTE OF THE WEEK

"The marksman hitteth the target partly by pulling, partly by letting go. The boatsman reacheth the landing partly by pulling, partly by letting go."
--Egyptian proverb

PERSONAL REFLECTIONS

As we strive to achieve our goals, as our passions propel us toward the fulfillment of our dreams, there is a tendency to go full speed, to push, to not let up. We feel we can't rest or relax. We must achieve the goal at all costs. What we do not realize is that many times this is self-defeating. When we try to force a situation to happen, it hinders our progress and can cause us to lose the very thing we seek.

Periodically stand back in your travels on the path to achievement and look at your destination. Are course adjustments needed? What are your motives? What is really important? Is your emphasis on the right thing? By taking time to introspect about your progress, you can then continue on your path with renewed confidence and vigor. Then, after a period, stop again and reassess. A sail boat does not travel a straight line from point to point. It zigzags back and forth taking advantage of the winds and making course corrections that will allow it ultimately to reach its destination. Make your own course corrections. Take time out to see if you are heading in the right direction. In doing so you will reach the true destination upon which you have set your sail.
