QUOTE OF THE WEEK

"To will is to select a goal, determine a course of action that will bring one to that goal, and then hold to that action till the goal is reached. The key is action."
--Michael Hanson (1863-1908) American mathematician

PERSONAL REFLECTIONS

Have you ever planned to do something and then planned some more, and some more, and some more? Soon you become so wrapped up in the planning that you never take action to achieve your goal. We dream and imagine how it would be if things were different, but we often stop short of taking the actions to make that difference. We may even set a goal. We may even set a good goal with all the right aspects. But we stop there. Why? Our reasons are as varied as we are. We may be full of self doubts. We may be afraid. We may feel somehow unworthy of achieving our goals. So we just plan, thinking that somehow the planning will get us where we want to go. In reality, planning without action is just an empty exercise.

Jack Canfield, author of "Chicken Soup for the Soul" tells us that when we have a goal we should, "get ready, fire and then aim." In other words, do not spend all our time aiming at the goal. Take the action. Out of the action we will see what adjustments we need to make and then we can "fire" again, this time getting closer to our target.

What dream, what goal have you been thinking about? Today is the day to take an action toward that goal. Just do it! As Michael Hanson said: "The key is action."
