QUOTE OF THE WEEK

"If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything."
--Allyson Jones in "Chicken Soup for the Soul"

PERSONAL REFLECTIONS

As we go through our journey in life, we come upon many tests, challenges, crossroads. Without these we would be born and we would die without any growth in between. Very young children are constantly exploring and learning from their environment. They are in the moment--the here and now. That is the way they learn and grow. As we get older it is easy to lose this trait and instead we avoid the tests, challenges, and crossroads of the moment. We look for happiness and relief from pain through such diversions as drugs, alcohol, material desires, or dysfunctional relationships. We stop growing. We constantly search for happiness from something. But happiness does not happen from anything external. Rather, happiness comes from within. When we know this we become open to experiencing all of God's wonderful gifts in a new light. And yes, that includes the tests, challenges, crossroads. We become fully alive in every moment of our existence. We learn, we love and we grow. It is within our reach.

So everyday embrace all that life offers. Be like the happy little child and live and learn in the moment. It is magical!
